Notes for Ann HINDLE
Ann is listed in the Old St. George Church register in Stalybridge, Cheshire as being christened 16 March 1823 and her birth also recorded as 27 January 1822. This daughter is not the one who would later marry James Norris. I feel that we will find a death for this child, either in Cheshire or perhaps even on the voyage over to America. There are two other deaths in Stalybridge listed to John Hindle that perhaps could be other children of John and Elizabeth, but definitive evidence is not yet in hand. There is time between the marriage in Oldham and this birth for there to have been another child who died. There are two deaths in Stalybridge attributed to children of a John Hindle. One is Nancy Hindle, buried 6 May 1821, age 8 months, daughter of John and Elizabeth Hindle. The other is Harriet Hindle, buried 9 March 1824, age 8 days, daughter of John Hindle.
