Man Killed as Auto Upsets
Cemetery Near Harrison, O., Is Tragedy Scene
Woman Hurt in Mishap
Curve in Road Blamed for Crash Involving Six

Leroy B. Webber, 29, Swain ct., Covington, was killed and one woman was injured in an auto accident on the New Haven pike, three miles from Harrison, O., early Wednesday.

Coroner D.C. Handley, investigating the accident, was told three men and three women were in the party.

Webber was killed when the auto in which he was riding left the road plowed thru a fence of the Old Baptist Cemetery and overturned. He was pinned beneath the car. A woman, whose name was not learned, was rendered unconscious.
Aid Is Summoned
Fred Buessler, farmer, living near the cemetery, was notified of the accident when Carl Webber, 219 Riverside Drive, and Lawrence Dressman, Lynn and Green streets, Covington, came to the Roessler home to summon aid. Jack & Penny, undertakers, of Harrison, were called.

A wrecking car was rushed to the scene. Webber’s neck and head were mangled.

When Roessler arrived at the scene one of the women was unconscious. She was revived and, with Carl Webber and Dressman and two other women, taken to a home in Covington. The women refused to give their hames. Webber’s body was take to the county morgue.

Bend Held Responsible
Failure to observe a bend in the road is believed to be the cause of the accident.

Webber’s death brings the total auto fatalities of this year up to 102, two less than the record number of 104 in 1921.
