Frank J. Kornmayer
Frank J. Kornmayer, 78, a resident of Olympia for five years, died Thursday, May 13, 1993, in Capital Medical Center, Olympia.
He was born to Frank J. and Freda M. (Davis) Kornmayer on Aug. 8, 1914, in Reno, Nev., where he was graduated from high school and received a civil engineering degree from the University of Nevada.
Mr. Kornmayer was a master sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was married to Hiawatha Eads on June 19, 1949, in Reno.
He was owner-manager of Smith Peterson and Co., operators of Gem Concrete Co., in Reno. He was also a general contractor in the Reno area.
Mr. Kornmayer came to Washington from Nevada in 1974. He was a life member and past master of the Blue Lodge, Reno No. 13, F&AM; a member of York Rite, Reno Chapter No. 7, Royal Arch Masons; a life member of Scottish Rite No. 32, Reno; a member of the DeWitt Clinton Commandry and the Knights Templar; past sovereign of the Knights of Constantine; a member of the Kerak Temple of the Shrine, Reno; past director of the Royal Order of Jesters, Court 33; and past patron of the Adah Chapter No. 4.
Surviving Mr. Kornmayer are his wife, of Olympia; two daughters, Evangeline Ruth Harper, Reno, and Marguerite T. “Missi” Beesemyer, Reno; a son Frank J. “Jay” III, Las Vegas, Nev.; three sisters, Margaret Millard, Elko, Nev., Mary Gensman, Tucson, Ariz., and Freda McCulloch, Reno; also seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mr. Kornmayer will be on Wednesday, May 19, in Walton’s Sierra Chapel, Reno. Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Park, Reno.
