Beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather. David R. Millard, PE, PLS, a long-time resident of Maple Valley and Kent, WA passed away in his home on March 20, 2007 surrounded by loved ones. He was 68 years old. Born on February 11, 1939 in Ely, NV to Robert W. and Margaret A. (Kornmayer) Millard. David was a strong advocate of higher education. He graduated from the University of Nevada in Reno with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor. At an early age, David worked with his father and grandfather in the family's land surveying and engineering businesses. He eventually left Millard-Spink and Associates in Elko, NV and worked with other engineering firms in the Pacific Northwest. David was an entrepreneur at heart and successfully operated and oversaw many ventures and family businesses. He was also a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served extensively in various capacities throughout his life, including the last five years as a Bishop. His service touched the lives of many. He was an honorable husband and father during his nearly 48 years of marriage. David is survived by his sweetheart, Barbara L. Millard, their five sons, five beautiful daughters -in-law, 19 precious grandchildren, and his only sister, Marsha Davis-Barstow, of Lamoille, NV. A memorial service will be held at the LOS Four Comers Building at 26800 236th PI SE, Maple Valley for him on Saturday, March 24, 2007.
