Margaret Kornmayer, R.W. Millard Are Married in Baptist Church

At one of the smartest weddings of the season, Miss Margaret Kornmayer and Robert W. Millard were united in marriage at a five o’clock ceremony yesterday afternoon at the Reno Baptist church. Rev. Brewster Adams performed the rites in the presence of many friends and relatives.

Mrs. Fred Herz played the wedding march from Lohengrin on the golden organ. Miss Dorothea Shidler sang “I Love You Truly” preceding the bridal march.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Frank Kornmayer. Her attendants included Mary Millard, Mary Kornmayer, Phyllis Horn and Jessie Gulling, with her sister Betty acting as maid-of-honor.

Ushers included Frank Joe Kornmayer, Bill Kornmayer, Arthur Elliott and Jack Leahigh, with Dave Barnard acting as best man.

Mrs. Millard’s two tiny sisters, Freda Jeanne and Mardele Kornmayer were flower girls.

The bride was charming in the traditional white satin gown. Her veil was held in place with a wreath of orange blosoms[sic] and she carried a bouquet of calla lilies. As the “something old” of bride’s tradition she carried a lace handkerchief that belonged to the mother of her fiancé on her wedding day, and wore her mother’s engagement diamond.

Miss Betty Kornmayer, maid-of-honor, carried Talisman roses. She was dressed in yellow lace with a picture hat of matching color.

The bridesmaids were dressed in lace models of pastel shades and carried bouquets of sweet peas.

The flower girls wore quaint blue taffeta frocks with miniature rose corsages and carried blue baskets of rose blossoms.

Mrs. Preston Smith, aunt of Mrs. Millard, wore a gown of pastel print with a corsage of gardenias.

A reception held at the home of Mrs. Smith on seventh street, followed the wedding ceremony.

Mrs. Millard is the daughter of Frank Kornmayer. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada, where she was prominent in student activities. She was a member of Gothic “N” society, W.A.A., home economics club, Y.W.C.A, Delta Delta Delta sorority and Cap and Scroll honorary society.

Millard is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Millard of Ely. A graduate of the University of Nevada several years ago, he was active in student affairs while in college. He was an engineering student and is now employed in government work in Ely, where the couple will make their home.
