Florence Lee Jones Cahlan, 75, southern Nevada's first woman newspaper reporter and the former society editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, died Sunday. Cahlan worked 40 years for the Review-Journal, joining the paper in 1933 after graduating from the University of Missouri. She also was a correspondent for the Associated Press, Salt Lake CityTribune and the Christian Science Monitor. Cahlan was the first woman member of the Las Vegas Jaycees and helped organize the Junior League.
