Deaths and Funerals

Marvin Hosmer
The funeral of Marvin Hosmer, former resident of the Tonawandas, killed in an automobile accident at Detroit Friday night, was held this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the home of his sister, Mrs. Joseph Burke, 42, Beverly avenue, Lockport. A number of friends and relatives from the Tonawandas were in attendance. Interment was at North Ridge.

Body Brought Home
Lockport, Feb. 28 – The body of Marvin Hosmer, who was killed in an auto accident in Detroit Friday, was brought here Sunday to the home of his sister, Mrs. Joseph Burke, 42 Beverly road. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon in North Ridge cemetery. Hosmer had lived in Detroit for the last five years, going there from North Tonawanda.

Word Received of Sudden Death in Auto Accident – Bring Body Here for Burial
Mrs. Joseph Burke of No. 42 Beverly avenue, today received word of the sudden death of her brother, Marvin Hosmer, who was killed last night in an automobile accident in Detroit. Details were lacking in the telegram. Mr. Burke has gone to Detroit to arrange for having the body brought here for burial.

Mr. Hosmer was well known, having visited in Lockport on many occasions. He was born in Wilson fort-eight years ago but spent the greater part of his life in Tonawanda, where he made his home before going to Detroit five years ago. Besides his sister, Mrs. Burke, he leaves one brother, Howard Hosmer, of New York City.

It is expected that the body will arrive here tomorrow when funeral arrangements will be made.
