TRUMANN -- J. Henry Davis Jr., 84, of Trumann died Sunday, July 24, at St. Bernard's Medical Center of Jonesboro.

A native and lifelong resident of Trumann, he was a retired farmer and factory worker for Parker-Hannifin and a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include his wife, Murline Davis of the home; three sons, Elmer Daniel "Danny" Davis of Trumann, James Henry "Jim" Davis III of Lepanto and Paul David Davis of Sarasota, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Stewart of Trumann and Virgie Maxwell of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Christie Sue Davis, Wendy Ann Becker, Jeremy Paul Davis and Angela Nicole Wilson; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. Sr. and Melinnie Jane Bowman Davis; three brothers; and a sister.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
