Mrs. Parry, City Pioneer, Dies in East
Mrs. Harriet Phelps Parry, member of a pioneer Seattle family and a resident here until five years ago, died yesterday at Herndon, Va. Funeral services and interment will be Thursday in Herndon.
Mrs. Parry was the daughter of the late Byron Phelps, former Seattle mayor. She was the widow of Will H. Parry, who was a member of the Federal Trade Commission under President Woodrow Wilson, a past president of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce, and a Seattle newspaper man.
Mrs. Parry was born in Fairbury, Ill., and came to this state in 1888 with her parents.
Surviving are two sons, Tom Jones Parry, associated with a Seattle advertising firm and a lecturer on marketing and advertising at the University of Washington, and Byron Phelps Parry of Washington, D.C., with whom Mrs. Parry went east to make her home; a daughter, Mrs. Ray N. Davis of Herndon; a sister, Mrs. David (Donna Phelps) Cale of Seattle; a brother, Carl Phelps of Weed, Calif., and six grandchildren.
