Mr. Phelps settled in Salem, Mass., living there a short time, and removed to Reading, Mass. where he d. 1722. He is referred to in will of his father, His will was probated in Middlesex, Mass., 27 Aug. 1722, widow Elizabeth, admx. Inventory, £301,118, 6d. Will refers to Joseph, John, Mary, Nathaniel, Elizabeth, Sarah, Ebenezer. The inventory covered 13 1/4 acres in Salem and one-fourth of a Corn Mill in Salem, and house and farm in Reading,
Again 3 May, 1731 , the widow Elizabeth appointed guardian for Sarah aged 16 years, and Nathaniel 19 years, sons of John Phelps, and John Smith guardian for Ebenezer.
