The Winslow Dispatch (Pike County, Indiana), Friday, 29 December 1916
Mary L. Stork died Sunday night at the home of her son, Dr. John H. Stork in Stendal where she has made her home for a number of years. She was born in Jackson county; was one of the early settlers of Lockhart township and probably the oldest citizen in the community. Her husband died several years ago. She was 77 years old and is survived by seven children as follows: Dr. John H. Stork, Dan Stork, Mrs. Sarah Kemper, Mrs. Jennie, Perigo, Mrs. Minnie Wermeyer [sic], Mrs. Ella Ward and Miss Lou Stork. She was a devout member of the German M.E. church and was a splendid woman and had many friends. The funeral service was held in Holland Tuesday, the remains being interred in the German cemetery.
