Notes for Abraham Davidse ACKERMAN
Abraham lived in Bedford, Long Island in 1683. In that year he paid a poll tax of £18 and tax for a cow of £5 in Midwout. Abraham owned a tract of land which now comprises most of what is now known as the towns Woodridge and Hasbrouck Heights. Many of the stones used in Abraham and Aeltje’s first house are still in the wall of a house erected by a descendant in 1905. Abraham was received into the Dutch Reformed Church at Hackensack, NJ on 3 Oct 1696.
