Frank E. Beumer of Holland Dies While at Work
Frank E. Beumer, 68, of Holland, died suddenly yesterday afternoon in the office of Plant 1 of the Huntingburg Furniture Company, after having worked for the firm for more than twenty years.
Mr. Beumer, who was receiving clerk at the plant, came into the office around 4 p.m. with some papers to release a pool car. Instead of handing the papers to Clarence Nuhring, the payroll clerk and purchasing agent, he sat down at Mr. Nuhring’s desk and almost immediately slumped forward on the desk. He died instantly. Death was apparently due to a heart attack.
Mr. Beumer had been employed by the furniture company since October 27, 1939.
He was born at Holland on July 26, 1891, the son of William and Wilhelmina Werremeyer Beumer.
Surviving are the wife, Alma (nee Marcus); three daughters, Mrs. Florence Bradford of Devon, Conn., Mrs. Garneta Swenson of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mrs. Dorothy Weisman of Otwell; and five sons, Herbert of Napier Field, Ala., Alvin and Everett, both with the U.S. Navy, Orian of Evansville and Delbert of Palo Alto, Calif.
Friends may pay respects after Wednesday noon at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Services will be held in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ at Holland at 10 a.m. Friday, with Rev. Roger Petersen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
