ORA FOSTER


Ora Foster, 78, of the American Beauty Nursing Home in West Frankfort, a former Herrin resident, died at 3:40 p.m. Thursday in Union Hospital in West Frankfort.

Mrs. Foster was born Oct. 26, 1895, in Bradley, Ky., to Lewis and Julia Raffstraw Hogan.

Her husband John preceded her in death in 1967.

Survivors are a son, L.M. DeBose of Royal Oaks, Mich.; four daughters, Peggy Rowatt of Colp, Christine Owens and Jo Ann Proffit, both of Herrin, and Julia Cutsinger of Aurora; a sister, Daisy Claxton of Morganfield, Ky.; two brothers Frank and Dewy Hogan, both of Morganfield; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the George W. Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin. The Rev. Raymond Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
