Mrs. H.B. Tormohlen Dies of Pneumonia
Special to the Independent
Holland, Ind. May 12 - In the death of Mrs. Tormohlen, a mother has been removed from our midst who endeared herself to those who came in contact with her, by her Christian conduct.

Louise M. Tormohlen, nee Breford was born on a farm south of Holland, Feb. 18, 1863. In early infancy she was consecrated to her Saviour in holy baptism. In childhood she left her home to reside with her sister at Cortland, Ind., at which place she was confirmed April 14, 1876 in the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Some years later she returned to her home near Holland, Ind.

On April 23, 1884 she was united in marriage to Henry B. Tormohlen. This union was blessed with six children, four daughters and two sons, one daughter, Esther preceded the mother into eternity. On Feb 17, 1910 they moved from their farm to Holland and lived there ever since.

Mrs. Tormohlen for many years has been a sufferer but whenever her health permitted, her delight was to be in God’s house to hear the comfort of his holy word and to praise his glorious name. She was a faithful wife, a devoted mother to her children, a loving neighbor, and friend. She departed this life peacefully Monday morning May 10, 1926, having reached the age of 63 years, 2 months, 20 days. She is survived by her sorrowing husband, three daughters, Mrs. Edward Siebe and Mrs. George Schmeltekop, of Huntingburg, Mrs. George Linhardt of Dale, two sons, Harry Tormohlen of Huntingburg, and Ben Tormohlen residing at home, nine grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Minnie Harmeyer, one brother John Breford and a host of relatives and friends. Death was caused by pneumonia.

The funeral services will be held Thursday morning May 13, at the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. J. L. Sealing officiating.
