Last Rites Held For Mrs. Burns
WILSON – Services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Hamilton & Clark Funeral Chapel, for Mrs. Minnie J. Burns, 79, wife of Chester Burns, Seminary St. Mrs. Burns died in Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo, on Monday (Feb. 25, 1957). The Rev. Herbert Luehrs offciated at the services. Burial was in North Ridge Cemetery.
Born in Wilson, Mrs. Burns was the daughter of Seth and Mary Washburn Johnson. She attended local schools and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Her first husband was Dayton Pettit who died in 1942.
Mrs. Burns was a past noble grand of Wilson Chapter, Rebekahs, and a past matron of the Wilson Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Ora and Maynard Pettit, Wilson; a daughter, Mrs. Clarice Nixon North Tonawanda; two brothers, Ora Johnson, Wilson, and Frank Johnson, of Van Nutys Calif.; and six grandchildren.
