Married
Miss Edna Geffert and Mr. Albert Kehe were united in marriage at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran church, Saturday evening October 20. The bride’s brother, Rev. R. Geffert, of Harvey, reading the ceremony.
The bridal party entered the church to the strains of the wedding march from Lohengrim [sic] play by Prof. C.F. Militzer. The bride was charming in a handsome gown of white crepe satin, with long veil caught up with orange blossoms, which had been worn by her mother at her marriage. She carried a shower boquet [sic] of roses and white chrysanthenums. [sic] The bride’s attendents [sic] were the Misses Laura and Edna Franze, Lucille Geffert of Madison, Wisconsin, and Bertha Leseberg, beautifully gowned in orchid and yellow georgette crepe, and carryign yellow and orchid chrysanthenums [sic].
Miss Vera Geffert, sister of the bride was maid of honor and was ever so pretty dressed in turquoise blue georgette crepe carrying ping[sic] roses.
The groom was attended by his brother Mr. Wm. Kehe. The bride was escorted by her brother Mr. Walter Geffert, who gave her in marriage. Messers. A. Guenther and G. Hiedorn acted as ushers.
On acount[sic] of the failure of the lighting system, by which the church and the whole town were without electric service, the ceremony was caused to be delayed for an hour. The visitors, guests and the bridal party most cheerfully bore this annoying delay.
Following the marriage a reception was given at the home of the bridegrooms parents Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kehe, where over one hundred fifty guests were gathered to celebrate the happy event.
The newly wedded pair were the recipients of many beautiful and useful gifts. After a honeymoon trip to Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kehe will make their home in Arlington Heights, welcomed by the hearty good wishes of their many friends.
