Hugh N. Boyer, 50, died suddenly early Thursday morning at his home on the Canfield-Ellsworth road, following a heart attack. Mr. Boyer was born in Ellsworth township, Jan. 21, 1899, a son of Norman and Mary Brown Boyer, and his entire life was spent in the locality. For twenty-four years, Mr. Boyer was as instructor in Ellsworth school, retiring as principal six years ago, to devote his entire time to the large orchard. He was a member of the Canfield Presbyterian church. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Elizabeth Schafer of Ellsworth, whom he married Sept. 11, 1924; a brother, John C. Boyer of Glasgow, Ky.; and two sisters, Misses Flossie and Clara Boyer of Ellsworth township. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Harold W. Kaser, will be held at 2 pm Saturday at the Arbaugh-Pearce Funeral Home in Salem, where friends may call Friday evening from 7 to 9. Burial will be in Ellsworth cemetery."
