Mary Szirbik, 73


HAMDEN - A private graveside service will be held Saturday for Mary Norris Szirbik, 73, of Maple Street, who died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 1995, at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Stephen Szirbik.
The service will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Beecher & Bennett, 2300 Whitney Ave., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Szirbik was born in New Haven Feb. 7, 1921, and lived in Hamden since 1984. She previously resided in New Haven and Bethany.
She retired in 1985 as a nurse’s aide in the newborn infant intensive care unit of Yale-New Haven Hospital where she worked for 20 years.
She leaves two sons, Floyd Smith of Titusville, Fla., and Kenneth Szirbik of Great Falls, Mont.; and two sisters, Eunice Hahn of Hamden and Virginia Maturo of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four brothers, Raymond Locke of Cleveland, Robert Locke and Ernest Locke, both of New Haven, and Warren Locke of Prospect; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
