Sauer-Lohse Nuptials Saturday
Lovely in its simplicity was the wedding yesterday afternoon of Miss Alice Sauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Sauer of Washoe Valley, and Mr. George Lohse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred P. Lohse of Fallon.
The marriage took place at the home of Mrs. Lizzie Schmitt, a life-long family friend. Rev. J. Philip Schwabenland read the marriage rites.
The charming bride, a blonde, was a picture in her afternoon gown of powder blue with shell pink accessories, matching toque with pink veil and shower bouquet of valley lilies and pink sweet peas.
Her sister, Myra Sauer, was her only attendant. She was attractively gowned in navy blue net with white accessories and carried a bouquet of white sweet peas.
Dr. Kurt Hartoch attended the bridegroom.
Mrs. Sauer, mother of bride, chose a gown of pink crepe for the occasion.
The young couple are both graduates of the University of Nevada and are well known for their campus activities. Mrs. Lohse graduated with the class of 1938 with the highest honor to be bestowed for scholarship, the gold medal, and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and its president in her senior year.
Mr. Lohse was affiliated with the Lambda Chi Alpha and is the assistant manager of the Chamber of Commerce.
A small reception for close friends and relatives followed the ceremony. An exquisite cloth of rare cluny lace, a wedding gift of Mrs. Schmitt’s fifty years ago, covered the bridal table. Varicolored garden flowers, artistically arranged in a crystal bowl, centered the table with crystal candelbras [sic] on either side.
The newlyweds left immediately by motor for their honeymoon, the destination being kept a secret. They will be at home to their many friends at 321 College Court after September first.
