Former Reno Woman Dies in California
Mardelle Kornmayer Armanino, 39, of Taylorsville, Plumas County, California died Wednesday in a Reno hospital.
A native of Reno, she attended elementary and high school here and was graduated from the University of Nevada in 1952.
She was president of the Associated Women Students, a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, OES Adah Chapter Daughters of the Nile, and Past Most Worthy Advisor of the Order of Rainbow Girls.
Mrs. Armanino was also named in Who’s Who in Colleges of America.
She taught school in Reno. She also taught at Jessie Beck School in Reno and at Central School. She moved to Taylorsville five years ago.
Mrs. Armanino was the daughter of the late Frank and Freda Kornmayer, prominent early day Reno residents.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Armanino of Taylorsville; children, Anthony, Terrence, and Candis, all of Taylorsville; brothers, Frank J. Kornmayer and William A. Kornmayer both of Reno; sisters, Margaret Millard of Seattle, Betty Tedford of Fallon, Mary Gensman of Ajo, Ariz., and Freda McCulloch of Reno. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at the Sierra Chapel of Walton Funeral Home on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Blake Franklin of First Baptist Church, will officiate.
Entombment will follow at Mountain View Mausoleum.
