Marian Lyke, active in Richland Twp.
A memorial service will be held Sunday for Marian B. Lyke, 72, past president of the Richland Library Board.
Mrs. Lyke, of Ridge Road, was instrumental in organizing the first Cub Scout packs in Richland and had been a den mother for eight years.
She was also active in the AFS (American Field Service) and other foreign student exchange programs.
Mrs. Lyke was born in Cleveland, graduated from the Cleveland School of Art and taught at the Playhouse Settlement there. She had lived in the Pittsburgh area since 1942.
She was a past active member of the SANE Nuclear Policy Committee.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Lyke, a former member of the Richland School Authority; two sons, Edward B., of Castro Valley, Calif., and Robert F. Lyke, of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Ruth Bonsteel, and a brother, Lloyd Bonsteel, both of Indian Head, Md., and four grandchildren.
Cremation was private.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Richland Civic Club, Bakerstown and Ridge Roads.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children’s Corner Memorial Fund to be established at the Richland Public Library, Dickey Road, Gibsonia 15044

Dr. Edward L. Bonsteel announces the marriage of his daughter, Marion, to Mr. Harold F. Lyke on Monday, Aug 20,, at 8:30 p.m. at his home 3494 Cedarbrook Road. Cleveland Heights. The bride was attended by Miss Catherine Burchard and Mr. William Gailey, Jr. was best man. Mr. and Mrs. Luke are taking a month’s motor trip through Mexico.
