BREIER - Claus J., Oct. 29, father of Mrs. Raymond Schoetz, Seattle, Earl and Claus J. Breier, Lewiston, Idaho; also survived by 8 grand and 9 great-grandchildey[sic]. Rosary at Bonney-Watson Co., Friday, 8 p.m. Deceased will be taken to Lewiston, Idaho for Mass and interment.

C.J. Breier, Washington Pioneer, Dies
Rosary for Claus J. Breier, 88, a Washington pioneer, Seattle building and apartment-house owner and re-retired merchant, will be said at 8 o’clock tomorrow night in the Bonney-Watson chapel.
Requiem Mass will be said in Lewiston, Idaho, where Mr. Breier for many years maintained his headquarters for 56 clothing and merchandise stores in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California. Burial will be in Lewiston.
Mr. Breier died yesterday at his home at 730 Belmont Av. N. after a brief illness.
Mr. Breier, a native of Wesselburen, Germany, emigrated to the United States in 1887. He came to Washington Territory in 1888 from New York. He made his first home in Farmington, Whitman County. Besides his merchandising interest, Mr. Breier owned several Seattle apartment buildings, the Second and Pine Building and the Burke Building.
Mr. Breier moved to Seattle from Lewiston in 1944. He was a member of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce, the Building Owners and Managers’ Association, Elks Lodge No. 92, the Pioneers Association of Washington and the Modern Woodmen.
Mr. Breier’s wife, Elizabeth, died in 1954. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Scheetz of Seattle; two sons, Earl and Claus J. Breier, Jr., both of Lewiston; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
