Funeral of Pioneer Woman Will Be Tried Tomorrow
Burial of Mrs. Caroline Miehle, Who Died Wednesday in Butte
The funeral of the late Mrs. Caroline Miehle, who died at noon Wednesday in Butte, will be held Saturday morning at 8 o’clock from the residence of C.J. Breier, 572 Highland street.
Mrs. Miehle was the wife of M.[sic] Miehle, and was one of the pioneer women of the state. She was over 60 years of age, and had resided in Montana for over 35 years, the greater part of which time had been spent in Helena and Prickly Pear valley. In company with her husband, Mrs. Miehle came to Montana in 1864, locating in Alder gulch, and removing in 1865 to Helena.
The deceased leaves six children - Mrs. C.J. Breier, Frank Miehle and Joseph Miehle, of Helena; Mrs. John Dietrich, of Kalispell; Mrs. Ed Walker and Joseph Prill, of Butte. Mrs. Miehle leaves two brothers in Montana - Peter, Kirscher, of Livingston, and Joseph, of Townsend - and eight other brothers and sisters in the old home in Iowa.
