Notes for Caroline Louise SCHULTE

Not a lot is known about Ernst’s first wife, Louisa Schulte. The death certificate of Louise states she was born 18 September 1848 in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of William Schulte and Christina Voskuhle, both of Ladbergen. She was baptized Caroline Louise Schulte on 24 October 1848 at the St. Mattheus German Evangelical Church in Cincinnati, and this record also indicates 18 September for her birth. Her parents left Ladbergen in 1847, apparently about the same time that the Storks did. They are listed in the Auswanderer book of Ladbergen as Heinrich Friedrich Wilhelm Schulte, born 6 October 1809 with his wife Christine Elisabeth né Voskuhl born 3 November 1823. William died prior to 1855 when Christina secondly married to Henry Feldwisch in Dubois County, Indiana. The Feldwisch family came over to Indiana about 1841. Christina Voskuhle Schulte Feldwisch died sometime before 1880 in Indiana. Ernst lists Louise's death as 31 March 1886 in his pension papers. Her gravestone also lists the same date, as well as the German Methodist Church Records of Huntingburg.
