HOLLAND - Roy Werremeyer, 96, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at The Waters of Huntingburg.

He retired from Holland Dairy and was a member of the Holland United Methodist Church.

There are no immediate survivors.

Services 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Holland United Methodist Church, burial in Holland Methodist Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and 10 a.m. to service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.

Roy W. Werremeyer, 96, Holland
Roy W. Werremeyer, 96, Holland, died at 5 a.m. Sunday, April 22, 2007, at The Waters of Huntingburg, Huntingburg.

He was born in Pike County, Feb. 18, 1911, to Henry and Elnora (Neuman) Werremeyer. He was raised by the Bill Sakel family in Stendal after the death of his parents. He married Norena Hesson Aug. 2, 1937, at Covington; and she died April 18, 2007.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gordon Werremeyer, four brothers, Ollie, Clarence and infants Willie and Virgil Werremeyer, and two sisters, Frieda Meyer and Mabel Oskins.

Mr. Werremeyer retired from Holland Dairy after working there since 1934. He was a member of the Holland United Methodist Church, a volunteer at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary and was an avid gardner. He graduated from Stendal High School in 1930.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holland United Methodist Church, Holland. The Rev. Marcia Carpenter will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Nass and Son Funeral Home, Huntingburg, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorail contributions may be made to Holland United Methodist Church or the Leukemia Association of Dubois County.
