Deaths
Mrs. Ellen Wahl, wife of Dr. G.F. Wahl, aged 29 years. Mrs. Wahl was struck with a severe attack of typhoid fevere [sic] about two months ago from which she died. She leaves a husband, one child, mother, brothers and sisters and a large circle of friends to mourn her departure. Funeral yesterday afternoon, the remains being buried in the Bremen cemetery.

Again has that grim monster, death, invaded a happy home and made desolate, the hearts of its occupants. Amid life we are in death and what was once a happy and united household is broken up and made a place of mourning. All that was mortal of Mrs. Ellen Wahl, wife of Dr. G.F. Wahl, was laid to rest thursday afternoon in the Bremen cemetery and the broken bosom of Mother Earth hides from mortal vision the form of her who was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Wahl had been sick for about two months, having suffered a severe attack of typhoid fever from which she never recovered. Everything that skilled physicians and kind nurses could do was done but to no avail. Miss Ellen Dietrich was married to Dr. G.F. Wahl, in 1884. Two children were born to this union one of them yet living. She was 29 years of age at the time of her death. We believe we but voice the fellings [sic] of the entire community when we state that Bremen has never known a person who as a child, girl, wife and mother, has held higher esteem in the love of the people than she. Quiet, lady-like and unassuming in her every day conduct, she was at once universally respected and loved for her good qualities of head and heart, and her death will be sincerely mourned by all. Dr. Wahl and the orphaned child will have the sympathy of the entire community in their hour of affliction.
