Mr. and Mrs. Merle P. Hyde, residents of Batavia all except a few months of their married life, were today quietly observing their golden wedding anniversary at their home, No. 138? Bank street. Mr. Hyde is the founder and head of the firm of M.P Hyde & Son, coal, lumber and farm implement dealers whose headquarters are at No. 25 Liberty street.

Both are in excellent health. They were married on February 4, 1891, at Willson, Niagara County, their native village, by the Rev. Aschel Staples, pastor of the Methodist Church. Both are 73 years old.

Chase of Earlville, Lynford J. Hyde of Batavia, Ralph L. Hyde of Syracuse and Mrs. Kenneth Brooks of Buffalo and ten grandchildren.
