Thos. Tomamichel Dies at Age of 77
Thomas Tomamichel, a resident of Nevada for the past fifty-five years and for many years proprietor of the William Tell House on Sierra street, died shortly after ten o’clock last night at his home on Washington street. He had been in poor health for the past year, and for the past six months had been confined to his bed.

He was born in Switzerland seventy-seven years ago, coming to this country in 1874. He first settled in Sardine valley where he conducted a dairy ranch, later buying a ranch in Spanish Springs valley. Forty years ago he built the William Tell House at 245 Sierra street which he conducted until four years ago when he sold the hotel to Sam Picket,, and he then retired. He was widely known in Western Nevada and had many friends here.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Louis Tomamichel of Reno; a son, Thomas Tomamichel of Sparks, and three daughters, Mrs. E.K. Givan of Salt Lake City, Mrs. V.C. Kester and Mrs. William VanTassel of Reno. Several grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at ten o’clock at the home chapel of the Ross-Burke Company. Rev. E.A. McGowan, vicar of the Sparks Episcopal church, will conduct the services and interment will be in Hillside cemetery.

Services Today for Old Pioneer
Funeral services for Thomas Tomamichel pioneer resident of Nevada will be held this morning at the home chapel of the Ross-Burke company. The services will take place at 10 o’clock with the Rev. E.A. McGowan, vicar of the Sparks Episcopal church officiating. Interment will be in Hillside cemetery.

For more than 50 years Tomamichel has been a resident of this state having come here from Switzerland in 1874. He first settled in Sardine valley and later bought a ranch in Spanish Springs Valley were he successfully carried on a prosperous ranching business. Forty years ago he constructed the William Tell house at 245 Sierra street which hotel he conducted until four years ago. Since that time he has been retired and suffered ill health during the last year.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Luis Tomamichel of Reno, a son Thomas Tomamichel of Sparks and three daughters, Mrs. E.K. Givan of Salt Lake City, Mrs. V.C. Kester and Mrs. William Van Tassel of Reno.
