Mary Kornmayer, Resident of Reno for 44 Years, Dies

Mrs. Mary Kornmayer, a resident of Reno for 44 years, and widely known throughout this valley, died yesterday at the home, 221 West Third street. Although not in good health for sometime past her death came unexpectedly after a few days’ illness.
She was born in Washoe Valley 73 years ago, member a of a pioneer Nevada family, and spent her younger days there and at Washoe City. Most of her life, however, she had made her home in this city, and had been active in the Baptist church and fraternal orders. She was a member of Adah chapter, No. 4, order of the Eastern Star, and Nevada Rebekah lodge, No. 7. She was a past noble grand of the Rebekahs.
Mrs. Kornmayer was the mother of Frank and George Kornmayer of Reno, sisters of Mrs. P.B. Smith, Mrs. Louis Zurfluh and George Sauer of Reno, Mrs. Henry Heidenreich Sr., of Franktown, William, Louis and Frank Sauer of Washoe City; grandmother of Margaret, Frank Jr., Betty, Mary, Billie, Freda Jean and Mardell Kornmayer of Reno.
The funeral probably will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Ross-Burke company home chapel, under the direction of Adah chapter of the Eastern Star, assisted by Rev. Brewester Adams of the Baptist Church.
