Mrs. J. Kleppe Taken by Death
A resident of the Truckee Meadows for nearly half a century, Mrs. Pearl Mae Kleppe died this morning at her home on South Center street. She was the wife of John F. Kleppe, well known rancher of the Glendale district, and she had been in failing health for a long time.
Born in Iowa in 1876, she came to Nevada with her parents when a small child. She and her husband had lived in this valley for many years, making their home at the Glendale ranch in the summers and at the Reno home during the winter.
Besides her husband, she is survived by six children, Fred M. Kleppe of San Francisco; Ernest J., Arthur W. and Neva P. Kleppe of Reno; Mrs. Eslie [sic] Clifford of Sparks and Mrs. Eula Sanford of Truckee, Cal., and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Drake of Reno and Mrs. Addie Morrill of Oakland, Cal.
Funeral services will be announced later. The body is at the Ross-Burke home chapel.

Former Iowa Woman Dies
Following a long illness which became critical the past week, Mrs. Pearl Mae Kleppe, a resident of Nevada for 50 years, died yesterday at the home in South Center street. She was 55 years old.
A native of Iowa, she came to this state when a child with her parents, her father, C.C. Morton, being one of the pioneer settlers of this valley. She was educated in the local schools and, with her husband, John F. Kleppe, has resided for many years on their ranch in the Glendale district. Of late years they had spent the winters at the Reno home. She had a wide friendship throughout the Truckee meadow.
Surviving besides her husband are six children, Fred M., Kleppe of San Francisco, Ernest J., Arthur W. and Neva P. Kleppe of Reno, Mrs. Elsie [sic] Clifford of Sparks, Mrs. Eula Sanford of Truckee, and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Drake of Reno and Mrs. Addie Morrill of Oakland.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Ross-Burke company home chapel, with Rev. Brewster Adams of the Baptist church officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery.
