Mary Jane Parry
Ellensburg resident Mary Jane Parry, 57, died early Monday at her home following an extended illness. She was born Dec. 21, 1927, in Portland Ore., the daughter of Claus J. and Nell (Roberts) Breier Jr.
She was raised in Lewiston, Idaho, and was graduated from Lewiston High School in 1946. She was the Lewiston Roundup queen in 1948. Following graduation from the University of Idaho in 1950, she was employed by the Lewiston Morning Tribune.
She and Tom Parry were married on Dec. 9, 1951, in Lewiston. The lived in Missoula, Mont., and Clakston, Wenatchee and Pullman before moving to Ellensburg in 1965 when Mr. Parry going the Central Washington University athletic department staff.
Mrs. Parry was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, the Childrens Orthopedic Guild and the Study Club. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma while attending the University of Idaho.
Survivors include her husband, Tom, of Ellensburg; five children, Mary Katherine Parry, of Yakima, Tom Roberts Parry, of Seattle, Byron John Parry, of Ellensburg, Ann Marie Parry, of Kirkland, and Kathleen Jo Parry, of Ellensburg; three grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Nell Breier, of Lewiston, Idaho; and a brother, C. John Breier, of Bethesda, Md.
Her father preceded her in death in 1963.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in St. Andrews Catholic Church. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.,. Thursday at St. Andrews. The Rev. John Murtagh will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
