HORST RUDOLPH VIERKANT
71, South Peninsula Drive, Wilbur-by-the-Sea, died Tuesday, March 11. Mr. Vierkant was an importer and exporter of foreign auto parts. Born in Germany, he moved to Central Florida in 1980. He was a member of Daytona Beach Christian Drive-In Church, Kiwanis Club of Ormond Beach, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: wife, Alice; sons, Erich, Paducah, Ky., James, Ashland City, Tenn.; brother, Herbert Schneider, Cincinnati; four grandchildren. Newlife Cremation and Funeral Chapel, Ormond Beach.

Horst Rudolph Vierkant, 71, of South Peninsula Drive, an importer/exporter of foreign car parts, died Tuesday at Bowman's Nursing Home, Ormond Beach.

A native of Chemnitz, Germany, Mr. Vierkant came here in 1980 from Evansville, Ind., where he attended the University of Evansville. He was a member of the Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church, Daytona Beach Shores. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Ormond Beach. A Navy veteran of World War II, he earned a World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon and a Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Alice; two sons, Erich, Paducah, Ky., and James, Ashland City, Tenn.; a brother, Herbert Schneider, Cincinnati; and four grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange 32119. Newlife Cremation and Funeral Chapel, Ormond Beach, is in charge.
